Viv Kartsounis

A South African by birth Viv moved to Australia in 2002. As a passionate runners who knows the benefits of exercise, she would like to give people in need the opportunity to participate in sporting activities to help improve their well being. She has had a long and successful running career spanning 30 years, including representing Australia in the 100km World Cup competitions three years in a row. Working in the health and fitness industry keeps her fit, strong and active so she can continue her running and be a good role model to others.
Nick Drayton
- Founder
Nick was born in England and moved to Australia at a very young age. He started his professional career as a plumber, then became an engineer with his own consulting company, and he now run's the Airbnb, Nic's Retreat in the Capertee Valley, where all proceed go to our charity. Nick was a runner for over twenty years, completing in excess of 100 marathons, 2 Iron man Triathlons and numerous ultra-distance events. He devotes his time to helping Shoes for Planet Earth and caring for other's souls.
Andy Taylor
- Corporate
Andrew moved from New Zealand in 2005 and has always been a keen runner and sportsperson. He has competed in marathons and half marathon events in NZ, Australia and Japan and still continues to keep active with a bit of rugby on the side. With a young family and passion for life, he is passionate about helping people.
Taryn Sherwood
- Administration
Taryn lives in Sydney and has a very active life style with a love for yoga, running, and walking her dog. She works in the fitness industry as well as being a very dedicated mother. Taryn co-ordinates shoe collectors and receivers and we can't imagine life without her.
Margot McGinness
- Canberra Manager
Margot has lived in Canberra most of her life and loves it! She has been a passionate recreational runner for over 10 years and likes to run all distances from 5km to marathons as well as enjoying her local parkrun. When not running she is working part-time organising school sport or standing on the side of an AFL or cricket field watching her sons’ play. She is community minded and looks after all the soles in her area.
Jill Taylor
- New Zealand Manager
Jill lives in Te Awamutu, New Zealand, and is very excited to be expanding the charity throughout her country. Being community minded with a strong can-do attitude she sees this as an opportunity to help more people in need and is happy to look after all the soles around NZ. With a number of skills up her sleeve ranging from finance to retail, she is ideal for the position. She loves to walk and one day hopes to start running.
